In the land of da Bulls and da Bears, there's DePaul. One of the largest private, not-for-profit universities in the US, DePaul has more than 25,000 students attending classes at its six Chicago-area campuses. Also one of the country's largest Catholic institutions of higher learning, the university offers more than 275 undergraduate and graduate programs through about a dozen colleges and schools, including the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and the College of Communication. It has a student teacher ratio of 40 to 1. DePaul was founded in 1898 by the Vincentian religious community and is named after 17th century French priest St. Vincent de Paul.
As DePaul University extends its services and mission into the 21st century, diversity is clearly one of the greatest resources that will define our success in the future. DePaul believes, as part of its basic core values that a diverse workforce and educational environment are directly related to the success of the institution and is essential in preparing students to participate effectively in the diverse workplace of today.
Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity
"DePaul's commitment to diversity was evident in everything the team saw and heard. The Office of Institutional Diversity is one of DePaul's greatest strengths. It has accomplished much over the past 10 years, but realizes that there is still much to do. "
