The School of Engineering Medicine at Texas A&M University is seeking a collaborative and inspirational leader to serve as the Senior Associate Dean of Research with an anticipated start date in Spring 2024. This position is for a full-time tenure review upon hire appointment as a full professor. This position is a mixture of administrative and research efforts as a tenured faculty at Texas A&M University, and candidate is expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly research/creative work, teaching, and service. ENMED is the School of Engineering Medicine's innovative medical education program, developed in collaboration with Texas A&M School of Medicine, Texas A&M College of Engineering and Houston Methodist Hospital. ENMED graduates receive a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Engineering in four years. This first-in-the-nation program blends experiential learning in engineering innovation with medical school training to create a type of healthcare professional, a "physicianeer" with the goal of transforming health care. ENMED is located in Houston's Texas Medical Center. This position will have the opportunity to help direct an overall strategic vision which will pave the School's academic, research, medical, engineering, and clinical missions. This individual will be a highly innovative and visionary leader with a drive to revolutionize medical education. The Senior Associate Dean of Research will work to advance blending medical and engineering education, foster a culture of innovation, and facilitate collaborations with internal, external, and industry partners. The Senior Associate Dean of Research reports to the Executive Associate Dean of the School of Engineering Medicine. Duties include:
