The Department of Art and Art History at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany seeks an exceptional artist for Visiting Assistant Professor in sculpture. This is a two-year appointment with the possibility, depending on resources, of conversion to a tenure track position. The anticipated start date is August 24, 2020.
The successful candidate will teach sculpture at the undergraduate level and contribute to reshaping the curriculum. At the graduate level, the position requires the incumbent to engage with MFA and MA students in all media disciplines. Immediate responsibilities would include coordinating and overseeing the Graduate Teaching Assistants in Three Dimensional Design.
The Department seeks a collaborative colleague who will participate in organization, student advising, and service on committees that support the educational mission and initiatives of the Department, College and University. Candidates who will add cultural and ethnic diversity to the faculty are especially encouraged to apply.
